Bringing Our Warfighters ALL the Way Home

Bringing our service members all the way home means more than returning them to their loved ones. It means a full return to active, fulfilling, meaningful lives in their communities, their careers and their homes. But that can often be difficult to achieve because of today’s signature combat injuries: traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Raydon has put more than 20 years of experience in virtual reality to work for our service members. These virtual reality systems provide tools for effective cognitive assessments, resiliency training and rehabilitation— safely, efficiently and affordably.

Our goal is to help raise the service member’s resiliency, independence and cognitive function to their highest possible levels. To ultimately bring our warriors all the way home.

Baseline Assessment & Screening

Unless we know the cognitive condition of each service member before they leave for combat, it is extremely difficult to assess any changes after they return from combat.

Developed in conjunction with leading subject matter experts and Veterans’ Healthcare Centers, Raydon’s Virtual Rx systems provide an objective cognitive baseline that will aid in the assessment of possible injuries after combat. These systems provide the “before and after pictures” that are essential for doctors and therapists in creating an effective treatment plan.

Virtual Rx can also perform pre-combat cognitive screening to evaluate the service members’ readiness for duty and identify any areas that may need improvement or accommodation.

Resiliency & Inoculation

How will a person react when he or she witnesses the violent death of a comrade? How will the massive destruction of war affect a person? Military training excels in preparing men and women for combat physically. But mental and emotional preparation is also critical.

The DoD recognizes the need to develop the whole service member. The motto “strong minds, strong bodies” shouldn’t be just words. The Army has embarked on the Comprehensive Soldier Fitness Program. Raydon has also recognized the need and through Virtual Rx systems, service members can be exposed and trained to become more resilient, both body and mind.

Rehabilitation, Retraining & Reintegration

Post deployment, Raydon’s Virtual Rx provides an objective cognitive assessment that can be compared with baseline assessments made prior to combat. This information allows doctors and therapists to develop a sound treatment plan, a plan for rehabilitation, for the reacquisition of skills or retraining for reintegration back to duty or into the community when the service member returns home.

Raydon’s Virtual Rx can provide an objective and standardized assessment and treatment for individuals with cognitive and behavioral dysfunctions. Simulation and virtual reality are fast becoming proven tools enabled trainers or practitioners to better apply resiliency training, exposure therapy and cognitive assessment.

Studies indicate that Virtual Reality Therapy, when done in conjunction with a therapist, helps expose the individual to scenarios that can safely produce PTSD symptoms. Previous research has revealed that Virtual Reality exposure therapy has been a very successful treatment for veterans suffering from PTSD.

A Place of Wellness & Wholeness

A Place of Wellness & Wholeness A Place of Wellness & Wholeness

Home is not a place on the map. Home is not a house. Home, as much as anything, is a state of mind. It is a feeling not just of wellness but of wholeness. The men and women of our military risk everything for the values we hold dear. It is up to us to serve them. It is up to us not just to bring them home, but to bring them all the way home. That’s why the people of Raydon are here. And that’s why we serve to make our service members’ minds and lives whole.
